Upon our arrival in Shinjuku, Tokyo's financial district, we set ourselves to discover the nocturne mystique of Japan's capitol. Armed with 3 Sri Lankans, one Brazilian and two fully loaded umbrella strollers, we walked by much of that area of towm right at that first night:

"I'm getting kindda hungry. Let's find a place to eat!"

That sounded like a great idea. But - who can tell where the restaurants are located?

"Oh God, this is going to take forever! Maybe we should simply stroll around aimlessly, until we randomly find a nice restaurant..."

That turned out to be a great strategy! We ended up finding this great Shabu-Shabu place - look at their menu:

In Japan, if you don't speak Japanese, it is hard to read basic things such as directions to your closest restaurant, or the menu once you get there. But thankfully God made the Japanese menus out of plastic models placed at the entrace of every establishment. So all you have to do is point and smile. What wonderful news after hours of wondering around Shinjuku looking for the perfect place to have our first Japanese meal experience. And what a delightful experience it was! Go Shabu-Shabu!
