Name that Baby!

At our baby shower last weekend, Anita, Jesse and Jen kindly started a much needed effort - a campaign to find a name for our baby!! It so happens that Jamila and Ana don't seem to be able to find a name that they both really like, and that "aha!"-effect that we had when picking Nalini's name hasn't happened to us this time around yet. Now - we understand we have to rush with this effort, since we really don't want the baby to show up before the perfect name has been found. That's why we ask - can you please lend a helping hand and send us some suggestions?

Here are the constraints:
-we need both boy and girl names, since we don't know what we're expecting!
-the name should be easy to pronounce in 4 languages: English, Portuguese, German and Singhalese, and
-the name should have a nice meaning

Please drop in your suggestion in form of a comment to this posting, or in an e-mail, if you wish. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

you don't absolutely need a name *before* the baby is born. owen was "baby boy treichler" for 2 days at the hospital! seeing him helped a lot, he just looked like an owen....none of the other names we'd thought of seemed to fit :)

Eureca!!!! Jenny was soooo right. One look at him + one thought about the time he was born, and I had the precious insight I was searching for *before* : To me he looks like "LEO", don't you all agree.? That is a short international name, with a strong and good meaning. He was born under a full moon in leo..! The interesting part about my free association is that I do not believe, or even understand, astrology and related subjects. I am much more down to earth, where a lion and its meanings do make a lot of sense too. Good luck with your research. Grandma's brainstorm
