Big Sister Nalini

Many people ask me whether Nalini knows that she's gonna be a big sister soon. The answer is: yes! She understands that a new baby is coming to join our family, and she is really excited to meet her baby. In the mean time, she plays with her doll, putting her to sleep, feeding her, bathing her and changing her diaper. When it gets to the doll's nap time in the afternoon, Nalini will sing and dance for the doll, and request that everyone around be very quiet in order not to wake up the baby. Sometimes, we sing and dance with Nalini in our arms to put her to sleep. Here is a shot of her doing the same to her doll:



And here is a great movie of Nalini putting her doll to sleep. She turned on the music all by herself! When singing doesn't work, then heavily dancing sometimes does the trick - as you can see in this other movie.


It seemed though that the doll didn't want to go to sleep just then. So Nalini switched to singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to her, and started playing with her hands in order to mimmic the spider's movements:



As you can tell, we're all really excited with the arrival of the new member of our family :)
